My husband preferred the Four Seasons on Market Street, where we stayed last December, but I liked Embarcadero better. Market Street is more central and gives you access to Equinox Sports Club and its pool. Embarcadero, on Sansome Street, is in a newer, more recently renovated building, has more of a boutique feel, and offers nicer views. Both places are great, and you can’t go wrong with either. We spent two nights at the Four Seasons Embarcadero in San Francisco. One night was booked through Amex Platinum and the other through Chase Luxury Travel, both of which came with benefits. Sequoia handled our check-in well and told us we’d been upgraded from a city view to a bay view room. It was beautiful, with incredible views of the skyline, bay, Coit Tower, Alcatraz, and the Transamerica Pyramid. We had breakfast at Orafo one morning and ordered room service the next; both were excellent, and each booking came with breakfast credits through Amex and Chase. I used the gym too. It wasn’t huge, but it was clean and well maintained. Thanks to the Four Seasons Embarcadero for the wonderful hospitality.

We spent most evenings of our busy weekend relaxing in the room, with wine and food from room service. Everything we ordered was delicious, and the service was pretty good. Our room had a distant view of the Golden Gate Bridge, which made it feel extra special. Weekend prices are a bit high, but I think it’s worth it.

Sequoia at the front desk got our stay off to a great start, and our bellhop was so helpful from the moment we arrived. He opened the door, took charge of our luggage, welcomed us, and made sure we got settled in our room. I’m sorry I’ve forgotten his name, especially after such a fun chat. His birthday was two days after mine, on Sept 30. The team arranged all our transportation and adjusted our itinerary as we went. We ordered room service several times, and both the food and staff were always exquisite. They also surprised us for our anniversary. Thanks for a wonderful stay and great teamwork!

They made an unbelievable Valentine’s Day weekend getaway for me and my girlfriend, when I proposed. Flowers, snacks ready to go, handwritten welcome notes, a perfect room with unbeatable views, and in-room dining meant we had no reason to leave the suite. They got every part of the trip right, and my fiancée and I will remember it for the rest of our lives. After Marriot Marquis really let me down, I found this place. I won’t be going back to Marriot after seeing firsthand how much more incredible Four Seasons is. The staff cared about what I wanted from the weekend, from the first person I spoke with on the phone to the gentleman who helped with our luggage.

The service is easily the best part. Everyone was extremely friendly, and this may be the only hotel in SF where you get service this attentive. The rooms are alright, though they’re not as modern as at other FS hotels, and it shows the building wasn’t originally made as a FS. There can be noisy roof sounds on the top floor. The location works for business and is walkable to some places, but the area is otherwise totally dead at night.
