La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Denver Boulder-Louisville

The third floor laundry area was even worse than the second floor. Its door wouldn’t close, the dryer was broken, and the whole place smelled. It reminded me of a run-down Motel 6. On my floor, the second, the hallway smelled like dog urine. I have a dog myself, but if mine peed on the floor I’d clean it up right away. Here, housekeeping doesn’t wash the floors, which need shampooing. At check-in I asked the woman at the desk if there was another way into the hotel so I could avoid taking my dog through the lobby. She said there wasn’t, though later I found a side door. I thought this was a safe, good area, but the previous night I saw homeless people walking around and going into the lobby. The stay really disappointed me. This place isn’t worth the deposit or the location.

The women at the front desk and everyone else I spoke with were very nice, but the fridge was never cleaned even after I was told several times that someone would come. They did enter the room while I was out one day to leave fresh towels and make the bed, yet left the hair frozen inside the mini fridge along with all the dirt. I have pictures. The room looked satisfactory at first, but that changed when I opened the fridge. The trouble began at check-in. I gave the clerk a different card from the one I’d booked with and explained that. The next day, I saw she had charged the original card. I went back to the desk and was assured they’d refund that card and charge the new one. I also said I had no car but had been charged for parking, and the clerk said she’d refund that too. Instead, both cards were charged for all five nights, so I had to call my card company to sort it out. For the last two days, the water was shut off during the day. If I didn’t get up early enough, I couldn’t shower, and the toilets couldn’t be flushed while it was off. I had a horrible stay and won’t make this mistake again. Be cautious.

The water was off when I got to the room. Once it came back, it was dark brown, though it lightened somewhat after about 20 minutes. It never got hot. Then I received a letter saying the water would be off all of the next day. I needed to shower and use the bathroom, so I asked for a refund and was refused. They kept checking in other guests after me, which was outrageous. I was told a manager would get in touch, but nobody ever did. There’s a reason this place costs so much less than nearby properties. Avoid it at all costs.

Bond was the only person who really helped me. He went out of his way to make the stay somewhat bearable. Manager Jessica was impolite and didn’t help much, and the service overall was horrible. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The location was the one good thing. Almost every day, something went wrong. On the first day the key card wouldn’t open my room, and I had to move between three rooms, losing nearly two hours. The cards also stopped working at random. The rooms were dated, and repairs could take four or five days, with no updates on the work orders. The dryers stayed broken for almost two weeks. It was all really frustrating.
