Viceroy Santa Monica

Breakfast was such a treat, and the room felt chic and delicious. We spent time at Sugar Palm, having drinks and a bite at the bar while taking in all the art around us. The decorative lobby is a creative director’s dream, and this was a grand first night in Santa Monica for us over the holidays. I’ve stayed in Los Angeles many times, and this is my favorite place so far. I love feeling at home in an art gallery. We’re looking forward to trying your other locations too.

The junior suite’s ocean view made the stay feel like a real vacation. It was bright, roomy, and so relaxing, with a beautiful view as soon as we walked in. The whole place has a calm, easy feel, with coastal energy and polished hospitality, and it was simple to switch off and enjoy ourselves. We’d happily come back for another escape by the ocean.

The rooms are sparkling clean, and the welcoming staff and warm, inviting lobby make the place feel much more peaceful now. It’s changed for the better since the days when limos lined the front, there was a bar right by the entrance, and the crowd felt tacky and obnoxious. After its facelift, the hotel feels serene and professional. Highly recommend it.

We chose Santa Monica for its quieter feel compared with Hollywood and DTLA, and the Viceroy Hotel turned out to be a great choice. The metro station in Downtown Santa Monica is an easy walk away, with the E line going into Downtown LA and across to East LA. There are also lots of nice cafés and restaurants nearby, plus convenience stores for snacks and drinks. The staff welcomed us warmly, explained the amenities, and made check-in smooth. Fresh bottled water was offered daily at no charge. Our room had plenty of space and storage, with wardrobes and drawers, along with plenty of charging points and USB ports, handy if you forget a power adapter. The bathroom was spacious, with a large bath and shower and a sliding door separating it from the rest of the room. There were plenty of towels and face cloths, plus two bathrobes. I liked that the mirrors don’t steam up, which made doing my hair and makeup afterward much easier. Our shower was fixed to the wall and couldn’t be detached. I’m not sure if other rooms have a different setup, but it wasn’t a problem for us. Housekeeping did a great job keeping everything fresh. We came over from the UK, and based on the glowing reviews, we decided to stay here. The hotel, staff, and service were impeccable. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Monica. It’s worth the extra cost for such brilliant service. Thanks for making our stay so amazing!
