A live roach, about 2 to 2 1/2 inches long, was in the closet. I found it while getting dressed on our last evening, wrapped it up, and took it to the front desk so the manager would know. The next morning I asked someone I believed was the manager whether she'd heard about it. She didn't apologize for having roaches in the room, just said she'd called pest control. At $300 a night, or $600 for our two nights, I wouldn't expect roaches in a motel that looked this nice. With one that size, I figure there are many others. That wasn't much customer service, and I won't stay at this particular motel again. My wife and I are retired, travel a lot, and have stayed at plenty of Fairfield Inns. If this is the service from the Marriott group, I'll think hard before staying at one of their motels again. I chose the Fairfield by Marriott at 2950 Township Blvd. in Saraland because it looked clean, and I called ahead to ask the total for two nights. When we arrived, they quoted a higher price. We were tired, so I accepted it. After unpacking, we found both toilet paper rolls in the bathroom nearly empty and had to go to the front desk for more. Nobody apologized for making us do that.

The room was comfortable and up to date, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was great, and everything was clean.

We stayed one night before our cruise. The rooms were clean, updated, and well kept, and there were lots of choices at the free breakfast. The staff were gracious and friendly. I'd highly recommend it.

The room was comfortable and clean, and I stayed for a month. Breakfast became the biggest problem after a while. It was frozen food that had been heated up and was barely fit to eat, so eventually I just couldn't eat it anymore.
