Brentwood Hotel

The beds were soft and comfortable, the rooms spacious, and the water pressure was good. I really enjoyed my short stay. It's also handy that there's a keypad for after-hours arrivals, and two restaurants are an easy walk away, one serving American food and the other Mexican. The Mexican restaurant was G8 !

I found out by calling the hotel with a question that our reservation had been canceled. The answering machine said Brentwood hotel had an “emergency and were forced to close.” That part wasn't a huge deal, but nobody had told us the booking was canceled, and they still charged us. I've emailed a couple of times over the past week without hearing back. Booking.com also tried to contact them and got no response. Now we'll have to dispute the charge with the credit card company. It's just frustrating.

The rooms are quaint, clean, and nice, and the location is close to the Saratoga scene, right beside the tracks. This is a lovely, intimate artisanal hotel, but everything is handled remotely, with no check-in desk, so make sure you have your arrival details. I booked through a third-party site and didn't receive the PIN information for our room. After I called, they got back to me in 30-45 minutes, which was fine. We came at the end of March, when the bar and fire pit weren't available.

Seeing the track across the street and the horses working out first thing in the morning was a really neat bonus, something you don't get just anywhere. The place is well situated for getting to town, shopping, or dining, and it has a quiet setting and a cute outdoor patio. Access is keyless and contact-free, the rooms are nicely done, and the bed was comfortable. Wonderful stay for the price. We'd definitely come back.
