The house and area were beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit from the UK. It's a convenient base for the beach, town, and countryside, with ample parking, a pretty quiet street, and lots of wildlife, including Blue Jay's, woodpeckers, chipmunks, and black and grey squirrels. Hummingbird is a neat, tidy, very clean little place with good-quality furnishings, ideal for two. Town is about a ten-minute walk or a few minutes by car. We hope to return someday. For a longer stay, there wasn't much storage or anywhere to hang clothes in the bedroom. Guests should know the restroom is downstairs while the bedroom and lounge are upstairs. The fittings are good quality, but the stairs really need a handrail, especially coming down. More signs warning about the low ceilings would help too. We're only 5'7" and still bumped our heads now and then in the bedroom and at the top of the stairs. We wanted to cook more because food in town is expensive, but the rules don't allow pantry items to be left behind. Since we couldn't bring basic supplies from the UK, we had no salt, pepper, sugar, tea, or coffee to use, and anything to buy came in large quantities. There's no local place in town to buy milk either. The nearest options are gas stations with mini-marts a short drive away, making basic provisions more expensive. A small welcome basket would have been nice for a late arrival. Even with those minor drawbacks, we had a fabulous time in Saugatuck.

I liked the area and had a nice stay, but the shower was cold on the second night. They also leave a long checkout list: strip the beds, take out the trash, and wash the dishes. That's fine, but why charge a $50 cleaning fee if guests are doing the cleaning?

We had a really relaxing time at the Swallows Cottage. It's quiet, has plenty of space, and is close enough to downtown that we could walk to wherever we wanted to go.

We had to cancel unexpectedly because our pet got sick, but we gave more than 24 hours' notice. It's now been over 72 hours, and after two voicemail messages and three emails, the renter still hasn't contacted us. Quaint Cottages says it responds within 24 hours.

We only had one night here and wished we could've stayed longer. Sweet little place, furnished nicely enough for a longer visit too.
