DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Savannah Airport

The breakfast waitress was the only bright spot. She was kind, attentive, and professional. The rest of the stay was a letdown, especially since I’ve had good experiences at other DoubleTree by Hilton locations. The building looked unwelcoming from the outside, and the room’s layout was the least functional I’ve experienced at a hotel. When we needed help, the front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. The pool was green and clearly neglected, so we couldn’t use the amenity we’d been looking forward to. I wouldn’t choose this location again.

Our room looked brand new during the remodel and was as nice as could be. The staff were excellent, and the breakfast chef made one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a long time. This was our first stay here, and I’d highly recommend it.

Breakfast service was much better than the check-in, where we felt like a complete inconvenience. The hotel sits behind the other hotels and looked abandoned and unkempt. Our room was dated and seemed to be getting worse. The shower curtain barely worked, three lights were out, furniture and rug were stained, and the wall paint was peeling. There was hair all over the floor and in the sink when we arrived.

The restaurant shuts at 3, and the snack area was nearly empty. There’s major renovation work going on, with a paint smell that could be rough for anyone with sensitive lungs. This place might be good once the construction is finished.
