Homewood Suites by Hilton Savannah-North/Airport

I come back to this Homewood Suites by Hilton location every month for work, and the staff make it feel welcoming each time. They know me as a regular and are incredibly friendly. Housekeeping keeps my room spotless every two days and really goes the extra mile. I've stayed at hotels all over the country, and this has been the most consistently excellent one. The location deserves recognition from headquarters for its service.

The guest room was a real letdown, especially as a Hilton Gold member. The carpet smelled strongly of pet urine, and it seemed someone had tried to cover it with a vinegar solution. The odor was so pervasive that we kept our shoes on the whole time. After a long day of travel, changing rooms wasn't something we could manage. The lobby and shared areas looked attractive and were well cared for, and the location right off the interstate is convenient. But the room was far below the condition I expect from Hilton, and the cleanliness didn't match the brand's usual standard.

The staff were outstanding, and there are stores and restaurants very close by. You can hear planes because it's near the airport. My room was dated and had a ceiling crack, but it was decent overall.

We had a comfortable stay. The room was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the whole property was clean. Staff were helpful, and they sorted out an issue quickly. We'd happily come back and recommend it if you're in the area.
