Marriott Savannah Riverfront

We enjoyed dinner at the lobby bar so much that we came back the next night to see the staff again. Meg especially made a point of recognizing our anniversary and took wonderful care of us. Efin. Ari and Adi were also amazing, and all of them made our stay feel warm and comfortable. Before we even checked in, the property replied right away to my message about celebrating our anniversary, verified the reservation, and arranged for amenities to be sent to our room. I’d also called to ask about an upgrade and got one. Dylan at the front desk made check-in easy and was very helpful. Many thanks to the team at Marriott Savannah Riverfront for being so accommodating to me and my husband. Their guest service was top notch, and we can’t wait to visit again.

Ask for a river-facing balcony if you can. Watching the big ships move in and out is magical. The hotel is at the east end of the River St walk way, and the indoor atrium rooms also look out over the river, but the balcony view is something special. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were smiling, helpful, and eager to serve, just like the old Marriott standard. They quickly fixed a small charge issue. The food and drinks were good, though the portions felt small for the price. Parking costs $40 a night, which I found pricey. There’s a city garage next door within walking distance for $20 a night if you’re on a budget.

We’ve stayed here several times over the past couple of months while traveling between Florida and Maryland. We’ve also tried the JW and the Bohemian, right next to each other, but this hotel is now our favorite of the three. The JW has a great location and rooftop, but we’ve done that and prefer this quieter spot and the pleasant walk to the more touristy side. There’s a rooftop bar with a small food menu at the nearby Hyatt, plus a nice coffee shop. A big plus for us is the small cat colony, which the community and hotel take good care of. That kind of care means a lot to me. On our latest visit, we got free breakfast because the concierge lounge was closed. The hotel has river balconies and rooms overlooking an inside court. We’ve enjoyed both and have been very satisfied. Great option!

My three-day stay here a few months ago was peaceful, and I enjoyed the whole experience. Once I got home and unpacked, I realized I’d left behind two shirts and some other personal items. Leo helped find them and promptly shipped them back to me. I’m grateful to Leo and the rest of the staff for making the stay so relaxing and returning my things. Thank you, Leo, and thank you Marriot for having such good employees. The people here made an already great experience even more memorable.
