Quality Inn Savannah Historic District

The room was clean, though the bed felt too big for the space. It got a bit loud over the weekend, but that's to be expected then. Parking costs extra, though I didn't think it was a big deal given the location in a touristy part of town. Great location, and for the price I can't complain much. The staff were local Americans who spoke English, which was a huge plus. I'd stay again.

I checked out after one night and found three more charges from the hotel on my bank account, close to $300 altogether. I’d already paid in full through Expedia. When I called to ask, they said it was an "early check out fee" for leaving before my booking ended. I explained that I’d paid already and they could rent the room again, but was told that was how it worked. The hotel is near downtown, but it wasn't worth the cost or hassle. The online photos made the place look nothing like the real hotel. I expected an older building, but the room was also poorly maintained and smelled strongly of mildew or mold. We were on the ground floor and it didn't feel safe. There was a gap around the door big enough for light to come through, and the area by the knob looked damaged and badly repaired. I'd booked three nights, but decided to leave. I didn't complain at the time, just went to the desk to check out.

This is the hotel we return to whenever we visit Savannah. It's near everything we want to see and do, and the manager, whom we've seen on visits over the past few years, is amazing. She clearly takes pride in the business and stays positive through all kinds of situations. Her staff are wonderful too, and seem to truly care about guests. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. We've had some of our best hotel sleep here, and we'll absolutely come back.

The milk at breakfast was actually cold, and we slept so well we added another night. The staff were as pleasant, helpful, and friendly as anyone could be. Excellent location!
