We didn't feel safe getting to this downtown apartment, even though downtown itself is a great location. Access is through a shady alley at the back, with large RAT catchers by the door. The photos showed a nice downtown building, but the entrance was difficult to find. I had to call support, and only after speaking with a representative did I learn it was down the alley. The automated security door looked as if it had been broken into from inside. There's no lift, so all your luggage has to go up a back staircase. In the bedroom, the walls didn't reach the ceiling, or there was a window near the top, letting in light and noise. I asked for a refund after seeing the alley, and they told me it would be fine. I also asked about parking across from the door. The representative said I could park there despite the private property towing signs. They were wrong: a private firm towed my rental car, and I spent the rest of the night negotiating to get it back. Sonder refused to refund the cost the next day. Later I found parking blocks away, but when I returned that night, homeless people harassed me. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We rented a unit at the Congress Apartments for 11 days in Feb 2025. The apartment was clean and adequately furnished, and the Sonder group warned potential renters about the noise. They were responsive when we asked for extra supplies and minor repairs. The listing also says one bedroom has no windows. The entrance is through an alley used by McDonalds for garbage. It smells, sometimes made us worry about safety, and was a letdown after booking a nice place. The master bedroom looks over the alley, though the window is covered in variegated plastic so you can't see out. It lets in light, but felt strange in a bedroom. The kitchen sink was peeling and looked quite gross, even though it had been cleaned before we arrived.

The apartment was huge, with spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms. We loved the place and its location right in the middle of downtown Savannah. For a city stay, the noise wasn't bad at all. We were there with our 10 and 12 year old, and we'll definitely book again on our next trip!

Inside, everything was just right: comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is really cute and close to City Market and everything else. There was construction in the alley entrance, which made the outside look grimy. We'd stay with Sonder again on our next visit to Savannah.

The room was a great value, and we had a really nice stay in unit 2B at The Congress. It was clean and roomy, with comfortable beds, and we could walk to shops, restaurants, and River Street. Finding it was tricky at first since you reach it through the alley behind McDonalds. That felt fine in daylight but a little sketchy after dark. Parking was manageable, though remember the meters run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and watch for street sweeping signs. There were quite a lot of homeless people nearby.
