SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chicago Schaumburg/Woodfield

The rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and the location was convenient for getting around, including a couple of minutes by car from the convention center. The bathroom has plenty of room, but could use a shelf or something to hold clothes while showering.

Iasha made me feel more welcome than any hotel staff ever has. She always greeted me with a smile, and when she noticed I was working late, she made sure I wouldn't be bothered and even offered drinks and cookies. Check-in was seamless, the room was clean, and the location worked perfectly for my training. Thank you, Marriott, for hiring people like her. Iasha, please keep that welcoming spirit. It meant a lot to me.

I recommended Spring Hills to my best friend's son's family for his hockey championship, because I'd loved the other six Spring Hills hotels we'd stayed at. This visit was disappointing. The room layout is so compromised that it's hard to walk through when the sofa is in use. At the other locations, the sofas were comfortable, the upper bed was large, and the lower bed was a regular single mattress beneath the sofa. This setup needs the company's attention. Christian at reception was very kind and tried to help, and Mr Santos at breakfast was the best. It's about 35 minutes from downtown. We're from Florida and have been seeking out Spring Hills because the one we usually stay at in the Springs area is absolutely worth it. We wanted to see whether we could trust the brand elsewhere. After Christmas, we drove to New York, stopping first in North Carolina, where the hotel was amazing for cleanliness and staff. Alexandria was amazing too. New York was too expensive, so we changed our plans. On the way back to Florida, we stayed at another one in Richmond. The staff were amazing and the rooms were okay, but the common areas needed deep cleaning. The lobby carpets needed work, and the elevator needed a fresh coat of paint.

We really enjoyed our stay, and the room was beautiful, clean, welcoming, and very spacious. The TV and sofa bed area could use an update, though. From the bed by the window, the TV was hard to see, and when the sofa bed was open, it blocked the way through because the TV is there too. The sofa bed was lumpy, so replacing it or adding a down topper would help. I didn't sleep at night.
