Super 8 Schenect/Albany Area

I’ve spent my life traveling as an actor, a sales training manager, and a general wanderer, and have stayed in hundreds of hotels. The rooms here may be small, but the people have big hearts. The manager is the kindest man I’ve met this decade. I wasn’t paid to leave a good review, and the service wasn’t above average. It was sheer kindness that made this location stand out.

I’m going to write for a full refund. The room was absolutely disgusting: mold, all kinds of substances splattered on the walls, doors, and sheets, and rodent droppings on the nightstand. The door clearly looked as if it had been broken into multiple times. Other guests were yelling and screaming. People were sitting all over the lobby floor and outside the entrance. I wish I could post photos and videos to warn everyone.

My non-smoking room had no smoke smell, even though the lobby smelled a bit smoky on arrival, which I expected with smoking rooms. The rooms are a little dated, but clean. At $50-60 a night, it’s good value if you’re in a pinch and need somewhere cheap for the night. They were updating the rooms across from mine on the first floor, but kept the noise to a minimum.

Nothing. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and would never come back. We reserved a queen, pet-friendly room, but got a cramped room with two full beds instead. The first room stank of cat urine. They changed our room, but it had been freshly sprayed with odor remover before we got the keys. That second room was filthy and smelled foul too. The shag carpet and linoleum were sticky and smelled of pet odors and stinky dog. There were black human hairs on the toilet and stuck around the sink, and the shower drain was full of hair. There were pet urine marks on the wall by the trash can, and breakfast was woefully inadequate.
