Daybreak Haven Bed & Breakfast

The Woodland Room has its own bathroom, but it isn’t attached to the bedroom. You reach it through a shared area, so bring a robe or use one of the robes provided. We had a great room, breakfast, and hosts. If you visit in April/May, ask about the salmon fishing opportunities.

There are over 1000 DVDs if you want to spend time relaxing in your room. The breakfasts were terrific, and the people were nice. It’s a comfortable house on the Umpqua River. Two of the three rooms have en suite bathrooms. The third has a larger, gorgeous bathroom, though you’ll need to put on a robe to get there.

The owners were super friendly, and we loved their dogs. We also had a campfire on the deck, ate a great breakfast, and saw a ton of elk nearby. Four of us stopped here during our road trip from Seattle to San Francisco, and it was probably our favorite place.

The food was very good and the place itself was nice, but the barking dogs and awful smell in our room made us want to leave as soon as we could. The dogs that greeted us were mean and barking, and our room smelled like wet dogs with skin infections. Even with the windows open and the fan running all day, the smell was still nauseating. We couldn't wait to get out and wash our clothes. I travel a lot for work and have stayed at quite a few B&Bs, and those two things really shouldn't happen at one.
