Best Western Plus Searcy Inn

We ended up here because the hotel we usually use had recently changed its policy and no longer accepted pets. It was nice to find a pet-friendly place for our Malti-Poo, but the odors around the hotel really took away from the stay. The third-floor hallway smelled strongly of body odor and damp, musty carpet, and there was another unpleasant smell by the elevator on the first floor. The room air was a little better, and luckily we had a fan to make it more comfortable. The hotel felt dated. The bathroom worked, though it needs renovation, and I appreciated having a coffee maker. There was only decaf coffee in the room.

The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and breakfast was good. The staff were friendly, and the place was clean and affordable. We’re Holiday Inn members, and the Holiday Inn we checked first wanted $197. BW was just as nice, had a much friendlier staff, and cost $108. Save yourself $80. I’d definitely recommend this property.

The hotel was quiet, and the blackout curtains helped us sleep well, especially with the rainy weather. Staff were helpful with our questions, and the breakfast was decent on the one day we made it down. I’d like to stay here again next year for the American Truckers jubilee. The room’s layout was odd, but it worked out great for us. There was a small cutout area, maybe 10x8, with a shelf that served as a desk and was wired for internet and office equipment. I had a lot of computer and paperwork to do, so I could spread everything out and get more done than I expected. My husband enjoyed the main bedroom and TV area while I worked. He liked the bed, but I found the mattress too soft, and the pillows had almost no substance, like bath towels. He also didn’t like the energy-efficient shower head because he had to stand under it a long time to rinse the shampoo out. I used the tub and had no trouble, and the water heated up quickly. The sink was separate from the room with the tub, shower, and toilet. It sat across from that bathroom, just inside the hotel room door where you’d usually find a closet. I’ve never seen that arrangement before. Most people get out of the shower and get dressed by the mirror without leaving the same room.

The rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet, and the breakfast was good. Everyone was very friendly.
