The gardens and water views at Captain Nickels Inn are stunning, and the whole place is beautiful, both elegant and relaxing. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, and the staff’s care showed in every detail. Breakfast was wonderful too. Melissa, the owner, and Hilary and Meghan were warm, friendly, and professional. Melissa even helped us find a car service to the airport at the last minute, which made leaving completely stress-free. We’d happily recommend the inn to anyone visiting the Midcoast Maine area, and we hope to return. Thank you, Melissa, Hilary and Meghan, for making our Maine weekend so memorable!

Melissa was such a gem, warm, welcoming, and helpful. She took time to find out what we enjoy and then gave us great recommendations. She and her staff are a real bonus. The room was amazing, breakfast delicious, and Captain Nichol’s Inn itself is beautiful, with every detail considered. The property had all the charm you’d expect from a historic seaside Maine estate. We highly recommend it.

After a day of exploring, my husband and I liked ending it in the inn’s Adirondack chairs by the water. When it rained, we sat in the tavern by the big windows with tea. The setting, grounds, and our room at Captain Nickels Inn were all beautiful, and the atmosphere was peaceful. Breakfast was delicious, especially the first course of homemade granola with vanilla yogurt and berries. The thoughtful, kind service made the stay feel like a real gem.

My husband and I got married at Captain Nickels Inn, and it was a dream. The staff were kind and accommodating, and Melissa, Tony, and the innkeeper, Hillary, made us feel so welcome. It’s peaceful and quiet, and even more beautiful in person than the photos. Breakfast was delicious too. A Maine must-stay!

We spent a few nights in the charming Desiah Elizabeth room toward the end of February, and I loved it. Sitting by the tavern’s big windows in the mornings and afternoons was a favorite part of the stay. One morning we woke up to fresh snow, which was a treat. Melissa and Tony, the innkeepers, were so welcoming and made us feel at home. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park were also easy to reach from the inn. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return.
