Coral Sands Motel

Dawn, the manager, and her husband stayed next door and made sure our room was in order. It was clean when we arrived and was cleaned while we went to breakfast. Dawn went above and beyond to accommodate us, and we had no complaints during a lovely weekend. The pool was comfortable and refreshing, parking worked out perfectly, and the location was handy for the beach, boardwalk, and the 711 nearby. It suited our needs perfectly.

We checked out the same day we arrived and found somewhere else to stay. The room was tiny, dated, and nothing like the Booking photos, with a strong bleach smell. There was mold and holes in the wall, no nightstand, and the bathroom and mirror were both small. For three people, they had left only two towels. The beds were thin and uncomfortable. The outside was much smaller than the pictures suggested, too. Parking was cramped and the lobby was hard to locate. Booking's photos gave us the opposite impression of what the motel was really like. They did refund our money, but check the reviews before booking.

The one thing going for this motel is that it's about a block from the boardwalk. Inside, it looked dirty, and the room was in poor shape. The toilet kept running, the shower was tiny with terrible water pressure, and the mattresses and pillows were uncomfortable. The walls were thin enough that we heard people talking next door. We stayed two nights and nobody cleaned the room. The frames and headboards were crooked, the doors wouldn't close properly, and the towels were stained and worn. They had left just one roll of toilet paper. I went to the office twice after 9 a.m. to ask for more, but nobody was there. The second time was after 11. I called the number on the door and left a message after getting a generic voicemail, but nobody brought any. I finally got toilet paper by asking an employee I saw outside who was looking into an unknown vehicle in the lot. Others in my group tried the free Wi-Fi, and it barely worked. I don't recommend staying here.

The pool is the standout here, it's large and really clean. The motel is cheap and close to the Boardwalk, but the rooms are run down. Our room was clean when we arrived, though we had to track someone down after two days for fresh towels, toilet paper, and new garbage bags. They say rooms aren't cleaned daily because of Covid, but who knows. The owner or manager is rarely around. If you don't care much about the room, it's fine for a trip to Seaside Heights. The pool is REALLY great.
