Coast Gateway Hotel

There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and a park about a 15 minute walk away if you want to get your steps in. The airport is around five minutes away, and the hotel has a shuttle. I’m a light sleeper and was worried about the airport next door, but the noise was minimal and hardly noticeable. My king room was nice, with a comfortable king size bed. Coast Gateway Hotel is quiet, convenient, and affordable.

We enjoy being members and have used the MasterPark relationship. We plan to come back often, since this boutique hotel is a gem. The mattresses are divine and give us restful sleep, and the rooms we’ve stayed in are always clean and sanitized. The hotel is dated, and the shower grout or tiles may not be pristine, but the staff are always cheerful, friendly, and focused on customer service. It’s a plus that the hotel has airport shuttles and is within walking distance.

It takes less than five minutes to drive from this hotel to SEATAC, so it’s a great fit if you’re flying out the next morning. They offer a shuttle, and you can pick up your newspaper on the way to the airport. The lobby is clean and comfortable, with plenty of places to wait and an easygoing feel. Leah at the front desk was especially helpful when I stopped by with questions.

The shuttle on our departure morning was on time, and that driver was polite and helpful. The pickup from the airport was another story. We called the hotel, waited 20 minutes, and finally took a taxi that cost $25. The hotel and rooms have a very dated, almost 1970s look. Our shower and bathtub looked old, and the hot water faucet on the sink made a strange vibration and noise. Breakfast was uninspiring and poor. I’m no coffee expert, but that coffee had no taste, and there was no microwave for oatmeal. The front desk said to use the one in our room, which seemed ridiculous. We skipped breakfast. I’ve seen that other people like this hotel, and it wasn’t terrible, but we won’t be back.
