Grand Hyatt Seattle

I’d happily stay here again. The gym is excellent, better than most hotel gyms I’ve visited, and the 27th floor Exec. Lounge was useful when I had access. It has continental breakfast until 10am, then various snacks until 21.00. There’s even a Moet etc Chandon Champagne vending machine, the only one I’ve seen. The location is scenic, with a short walk to the sea front past plenty of interesting shops. Our room was very well appointed, spotless, and had wonderful views toward the mountains. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were a little soft. My one issue was the lack of a quilt cover: the quilt is sandwiched between two sheets, and when both of us moved, the sheets twisted around. The large bathroom was spotless, and Balmain amenities were a nice touch.

The room was quiet with a nice view toward the water, and the interior was clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and the app made it easy to open doors with my phone. Parking was the trouble. Earlier reviews mentioned valet issues, so with its $68 fee and poor reviews I self parked overnight for 18 hours in the attached garage. It has Hyatt branded signs, Hyatt valets use it, and its elevator goes straight to the hotel lobby, but the rates weren't clearly posted, just a QR code to a website. I was charged $105. The front desk wasn't sympathetic at first, but the manager waived the $35 early check in fee, which made self parking comparable to valet. I'd use Spot Hero and avoid the 7th and Pike lot.

Staff were so friendly, and Julie at the front desk was great. The rooms are clean and nice, and the location is perfect for walking around different areas with so many good restaurants nearby. The hotel bar was nice too. I'll definitely stay again.

The room was fantastic, especially the large tub, which was one of the main reasons we chose to stay here along with the convenient location. Valet had our car ready quickly after a text, and the front desk staff were friendly. One drawback was that only two elevators were running, so the line was often quite long when we got back from exploring. From the 18th floor, taking the stairs wasn't much of an option. Still, this was one of my best hotel experiences.
