Homewood Suites by Hilton Seattle Downtown

We just spent five days here. It’s a cheap option in a great spot by the Space Needle, but don’t expect much. The heater was extremely loud when it kicked on, the mattresses were awful, and the hot breakfast food wasn’t good. The cereal and chia seed pudding cups were the tastiest things. Service was inconsistent, and the rooms weren’t clean, with pink mold around the shower and tub. Free breakfast is free, I guess. Mediocre at best.

I checked in a week ago expecting two queen beds and a pullout couch. Instead, I walked into a pile of five strange men, stacked on top of each other, who scattered as soon as I entered. As I tried to get my bearings, they gathered about 20 firearms and ran off. I realized they were agents of the state. Worst experience ever.

I always stay here when I’m hanging out in Seattle. It’s close to everything and right in the middle of the fun stuff. The free happy hour socials are a nice perk. Rooms are clean, with a kitchen and full-size fridge.

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I expected much better from the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Seattle. I stayed October 15-19, 2025, and the experience was unacceptable. The first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, despite Hilton’s non-smoking policy. The next room was little better, with a bathtub and toilet in terrible, neglected condition. The whole place felt dated and poorly maintained, far below what I associate with Hilton. Staff tried to help, but the room still wasn’t up to standard. They offered 20,000 points for the trouble, which felt inadequate for the discomfort. I requested a refund for at least one night and haven’t received a meaningful response. It felt like guests were being treated with the same disregard as the rooms. Hilton needs to do better; this wasn’t what I expect from the brand.
