Staybridge Suites Seattle - Fremont by IHG

The staff were amazing, really the highlight of this place. The rooms, though, need updating, a deep clean, repairs, or some combination of those. A few kitchen items were broken, and the breakfast choices were very limited. There was construction that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. On vacation, I was woken at 8am sharp by pounding and power tools. I would’ve picked another hotel if that had been listed on the website, the way the pool shutdown was.

The room was spacious and had a kitchenette with the essentials and a small dishwasher. We liked being a little outside downtown, but still only about a 10-minute drive away. We’d come back, though the bed was uncomfortable for us and parking in the private garage cost extra even for guests. There was plenty to enjoy around the hotel. The rooftop had a beautiful view, especially at night, with tables, a fireplace, two bbqs, and ash trays so smokers didn’t need to go down to the street. The den was large, with a double-sided fireplace and a small side room with a couch and TV. There was also a hot tub, pool, fitness room, conference rooms, and a business room with computers and fax/printer machines. Breakfast had more options than expected: eggs, bacon, potatoes, fresh-cut fruit, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, fresh-baked scones, bagels, and English muffins with two cream cheeses, salsa, and butter. There was cereal, regular or chocolate milk, soy milk on request, a yogurt bar, coffee, a soda dispenser, and three juices. It could help save a little for other things. The 24-hour pantry with snacks was a nice extra beyond vending machines. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we asked for restaurant ideas, the gentlemen at the desk shared a couple of places he likes and gave us a list of nearby restaurants with addresses and phone numbers.

You should make time for the roof, the view is amazing. The staff have also been kind, responsive, and helpful, with a professional but friendly, approachable manner. The rooms are hit or miss. One of ours was challenging because of the furniture and general condition, while the other was fine. That may be part of why the place is affordable.

The room was clean and in good condition, and I found the bed and pillows comfortable since I like a firm mattress. Staff were friendly and helped me when I needed a luggage cart. It’s conveniently close to downtown, with a reasonable kitchen for cooking during a longer stay. There’s secure underground parking with 6.5ft clearance, though the spaces are a bit narrow. The food could be much better for the room price, I’ve had better Best Western food. The “Pantry” selection was pretty disappointing.
