Royal Motel

The highway noise wasn't an issue for me. The room was spacious, clean, and fresh, with a nice bathroom. There was plenty of parking, and lots of places nearby delivered to the motel.

I wouldn't have minded a charge for a few hours, but a penalty of more than 150 baht for a place that felt unsafe, dirty, and unpleasant is hard to accept. The marijuana smell was overwhelming, and there were bedbugs in the room. I had booked for several days, canceled before the scheduled time, and still haven't gotten my money back. They want to charge as though this were a 5-star hotel.

I ended up canceling and booking somewhere else because the man on the phone was so unwilling to help. I'd booked through Expedia and only called to check that the motel had my reservation. He wouldn't look it up, just kept saying, "you're all set just come in at 3 o'clock at check in." He didn't ask for my name or dates, and I didn't want to arrive and find my room had been given away. The phone connection was poor and his accent was heavy, so I had trouble understanding him, but when I asked him to repeat himself, he yelled at me. The way he spoke made it clear he didn't want to help a guest. They should hire new staff, maybe people who don't sound miserable on the phone.

The bathroom had used toilet paper, and the bathtub and shower walls looked dirty and unsanitized, with mold. The sheets were stained and burned, and the soaps were incredibly small. It was the most disgusting room ever. I wish I could get my money back.
