Econo Lodge Truman Inn

We stayed here for the truck and tractor pulls, but the motel was gross. The smell hit us as we entered, and the pool area smelled foul too. The hotel was very dated, and our room didn't look anything like the picture. There was no jacuzzi tub at all.

The people are kind, but the room had only one pillow per person, and they seemed very confused when we asked for extras. The TVs didn't work at all, probably because the crusty remote batteries were dead. There were just two tiny hand towels for four people, and old soap remnants left in the bathrooms. They didn't change the sheets even though they had BLOOD STAINS AND CIGARETTE BURNS. We know it's not a Four Seasons, but eww. Also, plug in the refrigerator before using it, since it isn't already plugged in.

I stayed here before, and this visit was just as great. It was nice having a really good place to stay with effective climate control while I figured out whether the doctors were right about my needing to move to a dry climate. I found out I need a cool, dry climate, not a hot, dry one. Glad I learned that before moving.

The rooms were clean and nice, with laminate flooring instead of carpet, and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast was lacking. We came mainly to use the pool and hot tub, and called a week ahead to check they were working. We were told yes, but when we arrived both were closed and cold. They kept telling us they were open and working, or would be ready soon, but they never were.
