Hotel Bothwell Sedalia Central District, an Ascend Collection Hotel

I've seen some really classy weddings hosted here, and the staff have always been great, greeting us and helping whenever needed. The building has beautiful architecture, nice rooms, and a great downtown view. I've stayed at other hotels around Sedalia, but my wife and I have chosen the Bothwell Hotel exclusively for about 14 years. I'm originally from Sedalia and come back once or twice a year to see family and friends. This Thanksgiving I got to try the Executive Suite instead of my usual Queen room. It was exceptional, with several windows looking south over downtown and west toward the newly renovated Sedalia Trust building. There was a dining area, an in-room microwave, pretty chandeliers, and other extras. If you're visiting, I recommend a Guber Burger at Goody's, peanut butter on a burger, trust me, it's good. Mighty Melt has delicious sandwiches on really good homemade bread. Then stay at the Hotel Bothwell. Cool place.

Tracey told us some of the hotel's history when we checked in, which was really cool, and she was great. The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was hot and ready each morning, a nice start to the day. Our room was large and clean, with a bath and a half that was extremely convenient. The Hotel Bothwell is a beautifully maintained historic place, decorated beautifully for Christmas. We'll definitely return.

We stayed twice within two weeks, both times in the platinum suite, whose spacious bathroom makes it great for a couple's getaway. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned and ready, right down to the polished and dusted antique-looking mirrors. There were charging stations and electrical outlets available. The hotel feels solid and elegant, and the 24-hour staff were helpful and straightforward when something wasn't available. It has been fully modernized without losing the feel of its roots. We'll make it our regular place when traveling through mid to southern Missouri.

My wife and I rode the Katie trail on our bikes, and the hotel looked after us really well. They let us keep the bikes in our room, gave us directions to a restaurant and back to the Katie Trail, and sent us off with water bottles and extra snacks for the day's ride. The room was comfortable, the lobby beautiful, breakfast hot, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Great value. We highly recommend it.
