Resurrection Lodge on the Bay

The owners were friendly and quick to answer whenever we needed them, and the staff made us feel welcome. We also appreciated the grills and the kitchens in some rooms. The lodge was spotless and nicely decorated, with a really inviting feel. Breakfast was delicious, and there were cookies in the afternoon plus coffee and tea available all day. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

From our balcony, we could watch sea otters hanging out in the bay near shore. We stayed in the “yurt/tent,” which was a really cool room, and it was more comfortable than roughing it: hot shower, indoor bathroom, TV, and a full kitchen. The deck grill looked nice, though we didn’t use it. Kendall was lovely, and the free breakfast had SO many good options. It’s a little out of the way, but still just a 10-15 minute drive from the main shopping and dining area with bars.

The deck was a favorite, with sea otters swimming around and boats passing by. The lodge is a little outside town, so it’s really peaceful. Mr. Kendall made us feel at home, and our room was great with a very comfortable bed. The two women in the kitchen were fantastic and lovely to chat with. Breakfast was great, and there were good cookies waiting when we arrived. If we come back to Seward, this is the only place we’ll stay. Awesome.

The deck alone kept us entertained for ages. We spotted bald eagles, otters, seals, sea lions, hummingbirds, and more right on the property. We spent several nights and tried both the yurt and the Deluxe Queen. The yurt felt private and spacious, with a nice open layout. The Deluxe Queen had views of Resurrection Bay from bed and was only steps from the lodge and breakfast, though there was more foot traffic and the walls were thinner. You can hear the neighbors, especially if they’re watching TV at 3 a.m. like ours were. It was annoying, but brief and didn’t spoil the stay. Breakfast was fresh and homemade each morning, and the two women in the kitchen made us feel at home. Kendall and Michelle were warm hosts and kept things running smoothly. The lodge is about a 10-minute drive from downtown Seward, yet it feels quiet and scenic, like its own little world. We’d stay again.
