Motel 6 Seymour, IN - North

I waited about 20 minutes with no one at the desk to check me in. The sign said to use the phone for help, but nobody answered. I could hear a man snoring in the room behind the counter. I called several times and called out hello, but he just kept snoring. When I called the main number to ask for a refund, they refused and said they had to contact the hotel first. The woman on the phone called them too, but still got no answer. She also said my card would still be charged if I left without checking in. About 40 minutes after I arrived, a woman came off the elevator and asked if I’d been helped. After I told her I’d been waiting a long time, the half-asleep man finally stumbled out from behind the counter and checked me in. What the hell. I’ll never stay there again.

I couldn’t stay and ended up leaving because the whole facility smelled horrible, like curry and other spices. The rooms and doors had decorations and other items hanging on them, and it reminded me of an Indian apartment complex. I tried to speak with the front desk person, but he didn’t understand me. I wouldn’t recommend this place even to my worst enemy. Do not go here. TOM BODETT DID NOT LEAVE THE LIGHT ON HERE.

We ended up here at the last minute after our hotel was overbooked because we’d gone to louder than life, and it was a horrible experience. The room was 78° after we’d been out in the sun all day. The beds were stiff and uncomfortable, the TV wouldn’t work, and the pool was filthy and out of order. The ice machine didn’t work either. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Around 8pm, while we were laughing and having fun, the clerk knocked and threatened to call the cops if we didn’t stop fighting, lol. A friend accidentally left a bag of clothes in the room, but they wouldn’t let us retrieve it or get it from lost and found. They kept my deposit too. When I called to ask why, they just said it was for the room. Whatever, dude. Horrible experience.

I stay here often for work with my company, and it’s by far the best option in the area. I’ve tried some of the other local hotels, and they’re not the best. I always ask to stay here because it’s clean and secure, and check-in with the best guy is easy and trouble-free. The room is clean, warm, and cozy.
