Quality Inn Tucson Downtown near Convention Center

When I checked out and went to get my deposit back, they said my room smelled like marijuana. Absolutely not. I don’t smoke, and I travel using Choice Hotels without ever having this kind of issue. I firmly believe they were just trying to keep my $100 deposit, and I plan to contact the corporate office. Don’t stay here if you expect to get your money back. If I could give it no stars, I would.

After driving 11 hours from Sweetwater TX, we decided not to stay and kept going all the way to San Diego, another six hours. We could barely find the hotel because tents from some gem and mineral show surrounded it, cars were parked everywhere, and lots of homeless people were hanging around. Nothing against homeless people, but the place looked so run down and unlike the Quality Inns we’ve stayed at before that we thought we’d made a mistake. I’m requesting a refund because it looked nothing like the online photos, and I feel fooled.

The sheets were stained, and when I asked for clean ones they said they couldn’t provide any, though they assured me the room was clean. There was scary banging on the wall, and the room phone didn’t work if I needed help. Breakfast was rotten milk and stale bread. At checkout, I opened the door to say something, and they pushed their way into the room, even though there wasn’t another person in the entire hotel. It was 20 minutes past my checkout time, and they charged me over $50, plus $10 for every towel with makeup on it, and who knows what else. They threw me and my stuff out. I’m literally going to cancel my card. This was the single worst experience of my life. Please spend the extra $40 and stay anywhere else. Horrible.

My husband and aunt were passing through from Cali, and the clerk was so helpful and friendly. We give her and the motel 100 percent, and would recommend it to anyone.
