Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Shelby, NC

The hotel was quiet, the room was clean, and every employee I met was pleasant and quick to help. Breakfast was good and the breakfast area was clean. I felt safe in the well-lit lot at night, even though the hotel is behind a mall. The fridge was great, and my water had ice chips in it, unlike the coffee pot, which barely heated the water. The hot water for tea at breakfast was barely hot, too. The walls are a bit thin, so I could hear my neighbors talking, but it was New Years and they settled down soon. One small annoyance: the microwave locked itself whenever I used it. Thanks, Toyia, for explaining that feature. I didn’t know it did that. See ya’ll next time I’m in town!

I asked for a quiet room, but they put me in the one closest to the highway. They said they’d follow up, but never did. The place needs cleaning, and garbage sat in the hallway for two days. Breakfast was biscuits and gravy on two of my three days, then eggs and sausage on the other. I booked at the last minute as a last resort. The price sounds good, but you don’t get what you pay for. I’d drive an hour to stay somewhere decent.

The rooms are spacious and very clean, with fresh, soft bedding and plenty of clean white towels. The air conditioning was well maintained, the carpet felt soft underfoot, and the lighting and double curtains made it easy to get the room dark and wake up refreshed. Breakfast had a nice range of fruit, waffles, scrambled eggs with sausages, oatmeal, and aromatic coffee. There’s a large shopping mall nearby, along with cafes such as McDonald's. At first I thought this was a cozy little hotel, but it’s actually fairly spacious and has two floors. It’s affordable, quiet, and welcoming, with a convenient location, a well-kept entrance, and plenty of parking. The staff greeted us warmly and helped with check-in and other arrangements. Highly recommended, and welcome! 👍🫶

I was traveling for business, and the location made this a great place to stay, with shopping and food nearby. It was an excellent, very clean stay. I’d recommend it and would come back if I need to return to Shelby.
