The rate was reasonable, and having a stove in the room added value. Ours was poorly maintained, though I can’t speak for the other rooms. We had reservations and arrived at 4am, but there was nobody at the desk. We had to call and wait about 10-15 minutes for someone to come open it. The employee seemed to have been asleep and wasn’t happy. I understand that, and think the fault lies with the business setup, but it wasn’t our fault as guests either, so the employee shouldn’t have been annoyed with us. When we got into the room, there was a strong mildew smell mixed with what seemed like burnt cooking from previous guests. After we carried in our bags and turned on the lights, my son killed a roach climbing on the wall. I know roaches are common in Florida and hard to eliminate completely. But they usually hide when there’s light and activity, so seeing one roaming around made me think there might be a lot of them. I don’t want to put a negative stigma on a business over one incident that could happen at even the finest place, but I feel I have to describe what happened. We took our things downstairs, asked for our money back, got it, and went to another hotel. My review is based on a 30-minute visit. I gave it 3 stars because it wouldn’t be fair to rate it lower without giving the hotel a chance. The employee wasn’t nice, but wasn’t mean either, and we got our refund. It could have gone much worse, but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Basic and low cost, with no frills. It was decent and relatively clean, just some dust on top of the fridge and nothing disgusting. We had two rooms, and one AC stopped working in the middle of the night. The bed and pillows were comfortable. If you don’t need a blow dryer, expect a lamp, or want any luxuries, it’s a decent place to stay.

We booked two rooms for crews doing Hurricane Repairs (Mold Remediation), and the mold was bad enough that they could smell it. I spoke to someone directly rather than booking online and was quoted a nightly rate for “everything” they’d need. Apparently that didn’t include clean linens or towels. Those cost extra, and you have to bring the used ones down to the desk and exchange them for clean ones. When I called to complain, they said that was the policy and I should have read the fine print. They offered to refund the money, but said my guys wouldn’t be able to get clean sheets or towels, and rooms are only cleaned every 14 days. There are no coffee makers in the rooms unless you pay an extra $19.00. The kitchenette is no use unless you bring your own pots and pans, or pay another extra charge for those and for dishes. Buyer beware!

The $500 I spent here was the worst money I’ve ever spent. It was way overpriced, and the property and rooms were disturbingly dirty. The heat and AC didn’t work in my room, and the supposedly fresh towels had hair in them and didn’t look clean, even though they were folded nicely. The elevator hadn’t even been cleaned. The staff were the most disrespectful and inconsiderate workers I’ve ever seen. They were no help at all. One worker’s bulldog ran toward me with its hackles up and was very aggressive. My boyfriend grabbed it before it got to me, and the worker got defensive about him doing that, then talked cash trash to another employee right in front of us. Had I been an ugly person, I could have had a lawsuit. I absolutely don’t recommend this place and would avoid it at all costs.
