ONLY BOOK HERE IF YOU’RE SURE YOU WON’T NEED TO CANCEL: My husband, a Lifetime Gold Elite Bonvoy Member, and I had booked a room while driving from Florida to Illinois. A major snowstorm that week, January 29-31, changed our plans at the last minute. Rather than stop in Kentucky and risk the storm, we drove all the way home from Asheville in one day. It wasn’t fun, but felt safer. We had to cancel less than 24 hours ahead, so the hotel charged us. Once home, we asked for a refund because of the circumstances. Bonvoy sent the decision to the hotel instead of corporate, and we heard nothing until we contacted Bonvoy Customer Service a second time. They denied the refund based on the cancellation policy and said to call directly next time. Sorry we used the mobile app during a snowstorm instead of calling.

The lobby smelled fresh and clean as soon as we walked in. Our room was spacious, with a bright bathroom, and the staff were very friendly. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.

The breakfast bar was really good, and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are nice too.

I’m a loyal Marriott Bonvoy member, and my five-night stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites Shelbyville, starting October 19, 2025, was the worst service I’ve had at a Marriott property. We called the front desk multiple times asking for basic cleaning for health and hygiene, just vacuuming, trash removal, and fresh linens, but our room was never cleaned once. We even offered to vacuum it ourselves, but no one with access could be found. In the end, they gave us clean linens so we could change our own bed. That’s completely unacceptable for a Marriott and showed a total disregard for cleanliness, guest comfort, and the standards Marriott usually has. I regretted not driving another 20 minutes and getting a hotel in Louisville.
