Comfort Inn Express Shenandoah

Decent place, but there are a few things to fix. The pool had way too many chemicals, and there was a dead frog floating in the spa. The vending machine had no snacks, just a can of Coke for $1. Our bathroom ceiling also had a good-sized hole.

For the price, I loved the spa, pool, and limited hot breakfast. My fiancée and I were unsure about booking because the rate was only $45 plus tax, and we figured it might be that kind of motel. Instead, we got a clean, nice room, friendly staff, and breakfast included. I'd stay again if I'm back in the area, and would recommend it.

It's cheap and wasn't too bad. The outside and halls look like a demilitarized zone, but my room was okay. I actually had two rooms because the electric lock on the first one failed, so I had to switch. An employee used a slim jim to open my door, which isn't something you see at a Hilton every day. Breakfast wasn't great, but at least there was some. Cheap, and a bit of an adventure, I guess.

The place was under construction, and the room numbers were in strange sequences. The tub had cigarette burns, the coffee maker didn't work, and there was no breakfast or even tables and chairs in the kitchen. The bed was hard and the pillows tiny. Every time something clicked in the room, the TV cut out for a few seconds.
