Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Sherman

The room and hotel were nice, but that didn’t make up for being charged twice. I stayed one night in January while working nearby as a travel nurse. The front desk guy didn’t know what he was doing and told me to book through Expedia, which was nonrefundable. After I booked, he said he had to charge me for a different room through the hotel. I was charged by both Expedia and the hotel and never got a refund. Terrible customer service.

We loved the lobby’s free, unlimited coffee. It tasted great, unlike most hotel coffee. Breakfast needs major improvement: the meat ran out almost every day and wasn’t refilled for later guests. The seasoning was off, and the food tasted so subpar that sometimes whole plates went to waste. The waffles, juice, yogurt, and anything not made on-site were great, though. The staff were lovely whenever we spoke with them. We had nice, spacious rooms and the beds were comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. Both rooms had the same shower problem: the door slid open while we were in there and wouldn’t stay shut. We ended up having one person wedge a hand towel into the gap to “lock” the other in. It wasn’t too much of an inconvenience for us, but a person showering alone could get frustrated or leave the floor soaked.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and the room had everything working well, from the window shades and climate control to the bathroom’s many towel racks and hooks. There’s a fitness center, guest laundry, and pool, plus a nice outdoor smoking area. Breakfast was great.

We had a really good stay, with great staff and a wonderful lobby and food selection. It’s a beautiful property and seems to have everything you’d need.
