Days Inn by Wyndham Sidney NE

After 16 hours on the highway, I paid extra for a king room with a jetted tub. The room had a strong stale smell, and the AC ran without cooling the air. The tub was filthy. I filled it and turned on the jets to check they worked, and they spat out sediment and other disgusting stuff from the system. I didn't use the tub I'd paid extra for. Getting in there wouldn't have felt relaxing at all.

The room was awful. There were black marks all over the tub, blood-looking marks on the sheets, holes in the walls by the refrigerator, and blankets that smelled like urine. The carpets were stained, and the whole outdated place smelled like a nursing home. The heater wouldn't keep the room warm, and my husband and I are pretty sure we got bitten by bugs. I tried calling the manager but was told he wasn't available. Don't stay here, it's a waste of money when there are plenty of nicer hotels around.

At checkout, there was only a basket with a paper sign saying “Leave Keys Here!” and no staff around. Just great. Earlier, service showed up about 15 minutes after I arrived, only to say my room wasn't ready, so I sat in my car for another 2.5 HOURS. When he came back to say it was ready, he didn't knock, just opened my car door and tossed the key card onto the seat. Are you kidding me?!

Sai at the desk was a big help to our group of 50+ grumpy old people after we'd spent all day on the bus. A few vending machines had problems, apparently with the companies that service them, but Sai helped us get refunds. The rooms were comfortable and even had luggage stands, something many hotels don't provide, which is enough to make me never stay at those places again. Breakfast was super, the hotel was very clean and well run, and it was well worth the cost. If I'm through Sidney NE again, I'll stay here. Thanks, Sai, for hosting my wife and me.
