Days Inn Sierra Vista

The pool looked fairly clean, and there were birds singing around it, though the water was a bit cold and nobody was out there. The beds were really hard, so I tossed and turned all night, but I did like the pillows. The first thing we noticed on opening the door was a powerful smell, strongest in the bathroom. At first we thought bleach had mixed with some kind of cleaner. We opened the door and windows to air it out, but still had to buy air freshener. Glad it was only two nights and we were out most of the day.

The room was spacious, with a couch and a bed, and the location was good. Check-in was easy, the staff friendly, and the place felt safe. But the sheets had stains, and there were dead bugs in the bathroom. The cracked shower porcelain was the biggest turnoff. Even at a one-star motel, I expect cleaner sheets and a decent bathroom.

The staff and management were friendly and great. Our room was clean, and they brought extra towels quickly, though you have to hand in your used towels when exchanging them. I haven't tried the pool yet, but it looks clean. I'd strongly recommend staying here, especially if you're heading to nearby Tombstone. Enjoy!

The rates are very good, and the rooms are large and clean, though dated. Check-in was friendly and courteous. Breakfast was just okay. The scrambled eggs were put out at 6 a.m. and then left alone, so they dried out; a little water and an occasional stir could have helped. The hash browns were forgettable, and there was ketchup but no salsa. The breakfast room chairs are badly stained and should be re-covered. Seeing the front desk woman smoking outside this morning looked unprofessional. It's a value hotel, so you get what you pay for, but a few small improvements wouldn't take much.
