Shining Dawn Bed & Breakfast

Whenever we're in the area, my family and I like returning to The Shining Dawn. It's a beautiful old home, and the owners, Helen and Bruce, are friendly and helpful. The rooms feel clean and inviting, the meals are delicious, and the hospitality is excellent. It feels like home when you're away, and I highly recommend staying here.

My Aunt Jayne and I planned on two nights at the Shining Dawn, but loved it so much that we stayed three. We'd hoped to return by now, but life hasn't made it possible. We hope we can go again someday. It's the best B&B we've stayed in, and I wish we'd had a whole week there. Helen and Bruce greeted us at the front door, and Bruce carried our bags to our glorious room with its adjoining porch. The huge stained glass window on the stairs, bigger than a church window, is stunning. We loved the peaceful garden room too, with the fountain sound and sunlight filling it. Bruce restores clocks, and his work is displayed around the house. Breakfast was scrumptious, enough to last the day. Aunt Jayne especially loved Bruce's baked apple, and he kindly sent her the recipe. We visited Gettysburg while there, and on our second night at Shining Dawn we had a few paranormal experiences that made the stay even more memorable. Maybe Aunt Jayne and I will make it back someday.

We were treated very well at this charming, lovely bed and breakfast. It's beautifully maintained and a great option in Hanover.
