The room itself was clean and had the basics, and the staff were friendly. The lobby and grounds were well kept, the location was convenient, and the night was quiet. But I booked a room with an accessible bathroom, probably by mistake, and the shower setup was alarming. The whole bathroom was open with a drain in the middle. I ran the shower to warm things up, then came back to find the tile slick as glass. I slipped several times just walking across it, so I tossed down a couple of towels and shut the water off. I ended up giving up on my shower. The floor really needs some texture for safety. Outside, there were lots of people milling around, vaping and gathering in the lobby. It gave the place a temporary housing feel, which didn’t seem like the sort of crowd I expected at a more upscale hotel. Without the bathroom problem, I would’ve rated the stay higher.

For $180, I expected a lot more. The room was dirty, and there was a wet patch of carpet from a spill by the beds. In the middle of the night, the TV lit up with an offer to stay another night, and after 4 a.m. I couldn’t get back to sleep. They also added a $50 room charge that wasn’t removed when I checked out, so I have to wait for the credit to show up. It was just a quick overnight stop while traveling, but it wasn’t worth the price.

I only stayed one night, so I can’t say whether they would’ve emptied the trash, but I was glad to find a Keurig in the room and didn’t have to dig mine out of my duffel. It was quiet and clean, with Walmart, gas, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Huddle House is just across the parking lot, and the breakfast there was great. On Sunday, the hotel breakfast had bacon, biscuits and gravy, an omelet with diced ham, pepper, and cheese, plus freshly ground coffee.

We were worn out after a long day and needed a decent night’s sleep before finishing the drive. Holiday Inn came through again. The room was clean and had what we needed, with nothing unexpected. This one also seemed newer and nicer than the other locations we’ve stayed at.

The room was fine, and breakfast was OK, but the TV guide situation was frustrating. There was no guide channel, and the paper guide didn’t match the TV. When I asked at the desk for an updated one, the clerk said the hotel has three types of TVs and the guide in the room only fits one of them. Since she didn’t know which TV we had, she said she couldn’t help. We went back and tried 50 channels before finding CBS, NBC, and ABC. A guide that matches each room’s TV seems like an easy fix. The clerk also said she hadn’t heard other complaints about the mismatch and didn’t apologize, which made her response feel unhelpful. The elevator was heavily scuffed and made a loud grinding noise going up, too.
