Rodeway Inn Silver Springs - Ocala East

Our family felt looked after from the start. Whenever we needed anything, the staff made us feel like the only guests there, and they dealt with every concern right away, whatever the time or day. The rooms were clean, neat, and comfortable, too. Online offers helped keep the stay affordable, and the customer service made it comfortable. It really is a great place for families, especially on vacation.

The front desk woman was pleasant and checked us in without giving us an attitude, even though she was about to leave for the night. She put me at ease. The room was another story: the lobby carpet had huge stains, and people seemed to live there. We heard dogs barking and what sounded like a block party right outside our room after we went to bed. The sign mentions weekly and monthly stays, which I only noticed as we were leaving. We’d gone to Silver Springs to pass the time while waiting until the next day to pick up a car from Burnyzz in Ocala, then spotted this Inn on the way out and thought it would be a cheap place for one night. If you're driving by looking for an inexpensive stay, be warned and keep going. There's another place less than a mile down the road without long term stays, and a Holiday Inn farther along.

The shower and tub were clean, and the water pressure was good. We could park right outside our room, and the clear pool had lounge chairs on the deck. It was in the 60s, so I only put my feet in the unheated water. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express around the corner for our first two nights, but at about $150 a night it wasn’t worth it. My husband and I will be back to Rodeway Inn Silver Springs.

The noise was awful, with dogs barking and kids screaming. When I called the office to complain and asked for another room, the front desk worker, who looked about 20, yelled at me. I also called Choice Hotels’ 800 number and was told a manager would follow up, but no one ever did. I checked in on 9/22 and regretted it. I know it’s a cheap hotel, but the room was horrific. I didn’t want to take my shoes off because I was afraid I’d step on some half-dead creature. The shower barely had any water, so you might as well bathe in the pool. $72.48 felt steep for an off-season Monday, even with a Military discount.
