The breakfast was a letdown: coffee, juice, bread, butter, jam, a few pastries, yogurt, and fruit, all in small amounts. It felt minimal and didn’t satisfy us, so we usually just took tea to go and ate in town instead. The noise was another major problem. From our ground-floor room, we could hear every footstep and sound upstairs, including talking, laughing, showers, the jacuzzi, and even the dishwasher. The ceiling would shake, and we were woken around 7 AM every morning. We could also hear the people next door. There was basically no sound insulation. We stayed three nights at the end of October, and the room was freezing when we arrived because the heat wasn’t on. It took several hours to get warm enough to stay in. The sheets and pillows had visible stains, and the bedding and towels didn’t feel fresh or hygienic. I asked the receptionist for clean linens and changed the bed myself. Even the mattress was stained, which was unpleasant. I don’t recommend this hotel, especially because the cleanliness problems and lack of sound insulation affected us day and night.

The grounds had a nice, woodsy resort feel, with a gazebo-covered hot tub and a bonfire pit. The accommodations and continental breakfast were adequate, and the room itself was clean, but it was crammed with furniture: a queen bed, dresser, desk, round table with one chair, another chair at the desk, two more armed recliner-style chairs, and an ottoman. There were only three small, uncomfortable pillows for two people. Four would have made more sense. I closed the window and switched on the air conditioner, then checked the filter out of habit. It was completely clogged with dust. The cleaners had also missed dusty edges and corners, which could matter for anyone with allergies. Service gets a strong 2 from me because the few times we dealt with staff, they weren’t especially welcoming or helpful. It was okay, but not the kind of stay that makes us rush back.

Our room was small, but it was clean and quiet. The wooded property feels private and peaceful, and we loved having breakfast on the covered patio. The continental breakfast was complimentary. Tiffany greeted us warmly and was friendly and informative. She knows the area well and suggested places to visit and eat. She also helped locate some things I’d left in the room so they could be shipped to me. Many thanks.

It’s an old inn, so the furniture and facilities are quite dated, but we weren’t there to sit around watching TV. The staff are always lovely, and the price was excellent for such a good stay. Our king bed was clean, neat, and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, too, and the shower felt great.

The location is good, with places nearby so you don’t have to drive far. Still, I probably wouldn’t stay here again. There seems to be a lot of remodeling and repairs needed. Our room had no heat on when I arrived, and there was too much furniture in the small space. There was no plastic shower curtain, so water could get on the floor, and no mat to step onto after showering. The comforter also had visible stains. I was glad to hear breakfast was free, but there wasn’t much available. I would have liked waffles, eggs, or sausage.
