Fairfield Inn & Suites Slippery Rock

The staff were super friendly, and the hotel itself is great, with clean, updated rooms. The one problem is the town’s water supply, which gives tap water a bad taste. They sell bottled water at the hotel, though it’d be nice if they provided a couple of bottles each day for drinking.

I especially want to recognize the housekeeper, whose name I’m sorry I didn’t get. When I said my son had a fever and I’d hand things out so she wouldn’t need to enter the room, she brought us everything we needed. She even offered to find crayons for the kids, then asked how he was feeling when we checked out. That kindness meant a lot while I was stressed and far from home. The whole staff was friendly, and my family had a great three-night stay for my husband’s graduation. The pool was nice, the water not too cold, and the hot tub was a welcome surprise. The kids liked breakfast every morning and the hot chocolate bar too. Y’all were the best, and I’d definitely recommend this place!

After finding bed bugs in the room, we left and found a hotel in Grove City at 9 PM. They offered us another room, but we didn’t want to take it. I’m still waiting for my refund. I was given a card to call the manager, but I don’t see why I should have to call them. The stay was December 26-28, and there wasn’t going to be breakfast that morning. I’d stayed here every couple of months since my kiddo moved to Slippery Rock in June 2025. The first few visits were perfect, and I loved the staff, grounds, and room. Then, after an October visit, I was charged $20 for a dirty towel. That charge seemed bogus. My daughter and I don’t wear makeup, don’t have colored hair, or anything like that, but they sent a photo of a red towel. I’ve read that this seems to be a recent issue at the hotel. Dissapppointed, to say the least. Now when I visit my kid, I’ll have to stay about 15-20 out.

The Christmas decorations were fantastic, and I appreciated that they made the effort to decorate for the holiday. It’s nice to see that when some places seem to have forgotten the reason for the season. On my December 7, 2025 visit, the room was comfortable and the staff were super friendly. On another stay, the room was a good size, breakfast was decent, and the beds felt a bit hard. All in all, a very nice stay, and the hotel is close to the college.
