Best Western Smyrna Inn

The front desk people were friendly and accommodating when we checked in and when I asked for extra towels and pillows. We had three people in the room for two nights, Friday to Sunday, but there were only two bath towels to start with. The trash can had a hair net in it, there was hair in the sink, and the shower curtain looked old and stained. I also found stains on the pillowcases and blankets. Both blankets had what looked like Sharpie marks, a box and a check mark. The vending machines had very little in them, and the card reader was taped off, so they only took cash. In the morning, the orange juice machine gave us straight water. I’ve stayed here on every visit to family in DE, but after this lack of cleanliness and upkeep, I won’t be back.

I’m disputing a $50 incidental charge from my one-night stay, which I booked and paid for through a third party. They say it was because I checked out late, but nobody told me about a late checkout fee and I couldn’t find one stated anywhere. They also gave me no receipt for the charge. The room was dirty too, with a used washcloth left in the bathtub, and the TV made an awful noise when switched on. Looking at other reviews, this seems to happen a lot. Do not stay here.

We had no issues, and the place was clean and quiet. The lobby could use some updates. Best part? No weed smell!

If you’re looking for a crack hotel, this is it. It’s one step above that, but still very cheap and poor quality. The guy was on the phone and pretty rude while we checked in. I couldn’t figure out the TV, and breakfast was supposed to start at six, but at 6:30 there was nothing. I had to stop at Wawa for coffee on the way out. Judging by the other reviews, maybe that was better anyway. They also ran two money transactions, one for a deposit, and we never got them back. Fair warning, I don’t recommend it.
