Breakfast was good, and the place was clean with friendly staff. We rented what was described as a two-bedroom, two-bath unit, but it was actually one bedroom with another bed in a loft. The loft steps were very steep, the pictures weren’t accurate, and the description was really misleading. For what we paid, it wasn’t worth it. We also weren’t told parking would cost extra.

The location worked really well for me, within walking distance of shopping and plenty of good food. Breakfast every morning was convenient before heading out, and the front desk kept the many packages I received during my stay safe until I picked them up. Staff were great and very friendly, and the hotel was always clean. I was especially surprised by the daily housekeeping. I stay at a lot of long-stay hotels, and most places stopped offering daily service after 2020. I stayed from July 31st to November 15th and had a great experience. I’d recommend it for short or long stays.

We’ve been at the highest Marriott level for decades, and my husband spends more than 200 days a year with Marriott. Yet they keep getting our pillow preferences wrong every week, everywhere, even though our profile says we’re allergic to feather pillows. I think it’s time to try Hilton or a boutique hotel. We used points for this last-minute booking while driving between states for Thanksgiving. We’re still here, waiting for the kids to wake up before we leave. Marriott will refund the points, I know, but I wanted other people to hear about this. I’m not sure a newly renovated room would have helped, since I don’t know whether they have any. The “penthouses” sound fancy, but they’re 50-year-old-plus, two-level loft apartments turned into a hotel or something. It feels like the investors have milked the property instead of investing in it. Don’t book these lofts from Marriott. The room had wall-to-wall carpet, and the sofa bed was so moldy and uncomfortable that we couldn’t use it. You could feel every spring. Look at the mattress in the picture. When a mattress looks like that, how about bed bugs? They charged me $100 for a pet fee, and I want a refund. My dogs need a bath now, and they’re cleaner than this unit. The phone had no button or number for service. There was no light over the separate sink, and a single fan didn’t work. The toilet in the master started running exactly every 44 minutes, so you couldn’t get REM sleep. They updated the fixtures, but that seems to be all. Around 7am, I took the dogs out and found a homeless man sleeping in my walkway. I was afraid my dogs might bite him, so I brought them back inside. I felt terrible for him. I asked if he was okay, and he said he was drunk. His clothes were dirty and black. Breakfast for two was included. There was no bacon, the employee was manning the eggs, sausages, and biscuits, and the tables were filthy and half empty with nobody cleaning them. Breakfast was 3/10. Marriott, do better.

The staff are wonderful, and the rooms feel like small condos. A shuttle will take you to Truist. The only drawback is that the walk back after the game is mostly uphill, though it’s just 15 minutes. We’ll definitely come back.

Signs around the place said a refresh was underway, and I could see that in my room. There were still signs of age, the refrigerator didn’t work properly, and the hot water ran out very quickly. It wasn’t a terrible place, and it’ll probably be better once the refresh is finished. Rika was helpful at the front desk both at check-in and check-out. I’d stay again.
