The house itself was nice and the location is great, which makes it a shame that management ignored the upkeep. The driveway and path to the front door were dangerously icy, even though it had been over a month since new snow. The back porch was buried under snow and ice, making it hard to reach the hot tub and grill. The grill couldn't be used anyway because there was no propane. It looked like nobody had made any effort to keep the area clear or pleasant. On future trips to Tahoe, I'll avoid properties managed by Tahoe Keys.

The place was advertised with a hot tub, but on arrival I found there wasn't one, and there was no air-conditioning either. A week before check-in, I sent the signed contract and asked for the hot tub code because check-in was contactless. Management never replied. When I called, Alejandra at Tahoe Keys management said it wasn't her problem. There was no offer of another place, a discount, or even an apology. I won't rent through Tahoe Keys again and wouldn't recommend that anyone else does.

As an owner living out of town, I really value being able to trust Tahoe Keys Resort to look after my property. They give me peace of mind. The staff have a real can-do attitude, and problems get sorted quickly in a way that helps prevent them from coming up again. I also appreciate having check-in staff available around the clock and full-time maintenance workers. A few years ago, a guest had a small issue with one of our toilets. Tahoe Keys Resort sent their own maintenance person that same day. It only needed a little plastic part, replaced in a few minutes, and I was charged exactly for that, maybe $5.99. There was no call-out or labor fee, which I would've expected from a plumber, along with a marked-up price for the part and a full labor charge. That's the kind of service I appreciate.

I've had Tahoe Keys Resort manage my property for 18 years. I live on the East coast, a long way from Tahoe, and the house is a vacation place for me and my family. When we're not using it, I rent it out through them. It's a 40 year old house, so arranging upkeep and keeping it suitable for renters from so far away can be worrying. They give me peace of mind by handling the rentals and keeping track of inventory like flatware, silverware, and small appliances. They let me know when something breaks and do the work to price larger repairs. Once I approve the work, they arrange it and make sure it's completed. A couple of years ago, they pointed out that I was missing bookings because the décor wasn't up to the standard of other Tahoe Keys houses. They spent several visits talking through ways to freshen it up without spending a fortune. I made the upgrades and my rentals did much better. I appreciated that advice.
