Embassy Suites by Hilton San Francisco Airport Oyster Point

The gym was great, and breakfast was decent enough to keep me going: eggs, sausages, French toast, fruit, and cereal. The room was cleaned nicely too. I chose this hotel for its walkability and proximity to my business meetings, but the bad weather made those plans difficult. I had requested a King Suite and was given a Queen suite instead. That was okay, and the place initially impressed me with how clean it was. Then the problems started. The room was set to 53° during a rainy, cloudy, windy San Francisco week. I turned the heat up to 68°, but it only reached about 61° for a while and once got to 67°. The bathroom fan was hanging halfway from the ceiling and made an irritating click-clack whenever it detected movement. In the shower I found the shampoo and conditioner were nearly gone. I planned to ask for more the next day, but the rattling fan was still bothering me. After a long day at the office, I came back to a room at 55°. I hadn't changed the setting before leaving, and don't think anyone else had either. I told the front desk it was freezing and asked if that was normal. They explained that I needed to make sure it was set to heat, but I said it was and asked them to look into it. They said they'd send someone while I went downstairs for dinner. An hour later, the only thing waiting by my door was a beat-up heater. That night was rough. Cold air kept coming through the ventilation even though it was set to heat, and the little heater could only do so much. I struggled to sleep; the heater finally started blowing warm air around 11:30 pm, and I managed to sleep a little after midnight. I cut my trip short. I wish the stay had gone better, because the hotel still needs to pay more attention to these issues.

We were here January 25th to 27th after my grandmother passed away, and Janet made the stay feel warm and comforting. She kept checking that we had what we needed and went out of her way to make us feel at home. Thank you so much, Janet, for your kindness and care. You're a wonderful example for the other attendants. We'll definitely come back and recommend the hotel to friends and family. 🙏💖

The location feels safe, and I didn't see the kinds of problems you run into downtown. I dislike staying in downtown SF, even though I generally love cities. Staff were friendly, the rooms are roomy, there are plenty of elevators, and breakfast is decent. Parking costs quite a bit, though that may be normal for this area. I'm here alone for work. The rooms are too cold when the system is set to AC, and there's no real way to adjust it. The hallway thermostat in the room reads 70, but I suspect the bedroom is closer to 65. My wife would hate that, so this will probably keep me from bringing her here and make me consider other places nearby. I'm no climate-control expert, but when it's 45 outside, it seems like AC shouldn't be needed.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The lobby and atrium are bright, tidy, and feel modern and welcoming. There are plenty of parking spaces, though overnight parking is $45. Trevor was helpful and welcoming, and check-in was quick and smooth. They have Starbucks in the morning until 11 am and complimentary breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 am. There is also a restaurant, but I didn't try it.
