Hampton Inn San Francisco Airport

The hotel itself was great, clean, and staffed by friendly people. Getting there was the hassle: Google Maps sent me into the paid Embassy Suites lot. After 10 minutes trying to get out, I had to ask the manager to let me leave without paying $27. I switched to Apple Maps on the next few visits and got perfect directions to the Hampton Inn parking lot. The map problem wasn't the hotel's fault. Highly recommend the hotel.

Cold showers for everyone? What a miserable way to treat guests. Why not turn up the furnace so people paying to stay here don't have to freeze in the shower, or try to take a bath? I've never had to beg a hotel for hot water before. Maybe hot showers are only for Gold Diamond Plus Plus Sparkly members.

I wasn't paid for this review, and it isn't part of a promotion. The rooms have been renovated nicely: no stained sofa, clean carpets, and a comfortable bed. The front desk staff were professional. But the building feels old, and the halls had a strong chemical smell. Breakfast really wasn't good, in my opinion. The coffee tasted like water and the hot items were poor quality, so I stuck with a banana and yogurt. Also, despite being an airport hotel, there is no shuttle, so you'll need Uber or Lyft.

The staff member on the phone told us to come downstairs ourselves for soap and utensils, didn't address the cleanliness problems, and had me try fixing the TV on my own. The TV wouldn't turn on, and the microwave made loud, worrying noises. There was no hand soap, someone else's pubic hair in the shower, and a visible stain on the toilet. I checked in around 6:40 pm on November 15 and stayed one night. This was one of the worst hotel stays I've had in South San Francisco. For what this place costs, I could have stayed at a cheap motel and at least expected this level of dirt and poor service. It ruined the rest of my night, and I have no intention of returning. Disappointing and absolutely not worth the money. Don't bother.
