Park Pointe Hotel

Nothing about the stay at Park Pointe Hotel in South San Francisco was pleasant. It deserves 1/5. The building is in terrible disrepair inside and out. Hallways were dirty and dim at night; our room had a sticky, filthy carpet and a visibly stained chair. Outside, the lawn was overgrown and the shrubs untrimmed. Soda and ice machines were broken or leaking, and many windows were dusty. Through open blinds, we could see trash left in several rooms for our entire visit. Service was just as bad. For two people we got one large, one medium and one small towel. I called the front desk twice on two different days to ask for more towels and pillows, with no answer. When I walked over, nobody was at the desk, just a break sign. I couldn’t get basic supplies or request the room cleaning we needed. The water was hot and parking was free, but those small positives don’t make up for the filth and lack of basic service. Book somewhere else.

I travel a lot for work and have stayed at hundreds of hotels, but this was the worst. No microwave or fridge, and the water wasn’t warm. The low price is low for a reason. This is a last-resort place.

The room was filthy: the sheets looked used, the bathroom smelled awful, and everything felt sticky and neglected. The mattress and pillows were old and stinky, and the chair upholstery was so dirty I wouldn’t put my luggage on it. The whole property looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or maintained in years. Outside, the courtyard was overgrown and full of trash, with no lighting at night, so it felt unsafe. There was no front desk staff to help, and I never saw any custodial workers during my stay. The whole place felt creepy, dark and unsettling, like a crime scene. One star out of 100. Save yourself the nightmare and spend your money somewhere that cares about cleanliness and guests.

At least our room was clean. The place itself didn’t feel safe, with some sketchy-looking people who seemed to be living there, and the online photos were deceiving. There’s no elevator. Since it’s a motel, we had to walk outside around the sketchy building in the middle of the night to meet our airport Uber.
