We stayed in Osprey, and I fell in love with it. Though we arrived late for self check-in, the process was easy. Walking in from the cold, dark night to a warm, welcoming place with the main fireplace going and apples to snack on felt perfect. The whole home is full of history, paired with modern amenities, and the decorations add so much character. This was my first trip to the area, and I couldn’t have asked for a better stay at the Moorings Inn. It’s the best place to stay on the island. The front desk gave us helpful food tips, especially Clark Pointe Cafe for breakfast and Thurston’s for lobster dinner. Breakfast at the inn was excellent too: oatmeal, coffee, tea, croissants, jam, and fruit. Eating by the Oceanside was just perfect. The inn is still owned by the same family across generations, apparently the only one like that on the island. You really should stay here.

We had a cozy stay in the Dauntless room, with lovely views over the water from the fire pits. Manager Nancy welcomed us and had a light breakfast ready, and the service was great the whole time. It’s quieter here than in Bar Harbor, but only about a 15-minute drive to the park. I’d stay again when we come back to Acadia.

The view from our Spindrift room and balcony was incredible, and the bed was soft and really comfortable, just how I like it. The place has a distinctly Maine feel, with historic, quirky charm and a quaint atmosphere. Staff were great, and the hotel feels so unique and special. I loved staying here and hope I get to return. If you’re after a modern, updated hotel, this one might not suit you, but I loved it.

We were here for two nights during our Bar Harbor and Acadia trip and stayed in the Spindrift Suite. The king bed was super comfortable, and we got up for both sunrises. The balcony and windows looked out over gorgeous Southeast Harbor, with breathtaking views at dawn. I also loved the eclectic historic decor throughout. Breakfast was a nice continental spread. I’d highly recommend this delightful inn if you want somewhere fun and different that you’ll remember.

We came to the Moorings Inn for one night, a Saturday birthday treat after two nights camping at Blackwoods. The Silver Spray suite was enormous, with two rooms, a bathroom, several sitting areas, and a private balcony over the water. The setting was quiet and beautiful, the bed was comfortable, and it felt like a hidden gem. Service was great too. They put out oatmeal, fruit, croissants, and coffee for breakfast, which we ate in the backyard patio. It was such a relaxing stay. Thanks, and we hope to come back soon.
