I was traveling alone as a woman and had been skeptical about staying at a motel, but my first impression was good enough that I booked for a few days about a week ago. For almost three days on my way to work, the man in the room beside me watched me come and go from his window, then stood in his open doorway. I felt unsafe and planned to leave early. When I returned from work to pack up, I checked from my car to see if he was there. I didn't see him, so I quietly went upstairs and down the narrow walkway. Then I saw his door open again, and he was leaning in the doorway staring at me without saying anything. I froze, went back downstairs to my car, and drove to the front desk. I told the receptionist, an Indian man whose name I don't remember, that the man next door was watching me and I felt uncomfortable. Instead of offering to change my room, he said the man was a good guy and was probably looking outside. I was appalled by how dismissive he was. I said I wanted to check out early and asked if he or anyone else could go to the room with me. He told me to call the police, then sat at his computer as if I wasn't there anymore. I called, and the police arrived about 15 minutes later and escorted me. It's unbelievable how I was treated and that I had to do that. I don't recommend staying here if you're a woman, especially if you're alone.
I loved the room: it was spacious, clean, contemporary, and good for bringing my dog. But the motel's appearance from the road would have made me pass it by. The walls between rooms are thin, and there are a lot of very noisy, vocal dogs. With my own dog being very quiet and well behaved, it was hard to fully enjoy the room.
I feel safe here, and the room is so clean. I got here at 3 a.m. and livestreamed the room on TikTok. I've stayed in 48 states, and this is the cleanest Motel 6 I've ever been to, the only one out of the US that's clean. The furniture is new, and the rooms are actually clean and up to date. The fridge is old, but it works, it's clean, and it doesn't smell funny. That's the only thing I didn't like. The TV and Wi-Fi work fine, and the customer service was above and beyond. The front counter lady was so sweet and made checking in extra friendly. I love it here and will stay again, I swear. I'm so happy and proud to say it. I told my fans to leave reviews once I leave tomorrow, and I pray this place gets more customers.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a fridge and microwave, and everything worked properly. Pets are welcome too. I stayed two nights and would come back if I’m in the area. Getting around was the drawback: there’s nothing within walking distance, so without a car I had to rely on DoorDash or Uber Eats for food and other needs.
I’d stayed here before it became a Motel 6, and the recent renovation has made a clear difference. The rooms feel nearly new, with nice furniture and a clean, comfortable bed. Staff at the desk were friendly, patient, and helpful with my questions. The parking lot is well lit, and I felt safe there. It’s also conveniently located just off Business 85 in Spartanburg, SC. My stay was comfortable and the room was clean. The property had better reviews than nearby motels and other Motel 6 locations I looked at, and I’d recommend it to families and business travelers visiting Upstate SC.
