Travelodge by Wyndham Spearfish

My daughter was life-flighted to a Denver hospital the day before check-in, and I spent two nights there dealing with the emergency. Calling the hotel wasn’t my priority. When I arrived to check in on the second night, I learned the manager had canceled my entire reservation without warning. I calmly explained where I’d been, but got rudeness, no empathy, and no help. There was no refund or effort to accommodate me. Policies are one thing; how you treat someone whose child is hospitalized is another. I’ll never stay here again and will contact corporate. I later contacted the third-party booking company. They were willing to refund me, but said the hotel manager refused to refund the second night. The hotel never tried to make it right. I was told I’d have to rebook the night they canceled and pay for the room again. Keeping the first night’s charge would have been fine, but canceling the entire stay, keeping all the money, and telling the booking company they were keeping it was wrong. I understand communication matters, but with my daughter life-flighted to the hospital, calling the hotel was the least of my worries. I’ll speak with my bank about what I believe was fraud, as well as email corporate.

It’s an older hotel, but I felt safe and the place was clean. Check-in was easy thanks to the pleasant front desk staff. Breakfast choices were limited, though I understand space is limited too, so I appreciated what they had. The lobby offered complimentary coffee and tea. Fair price, and I’d stay again.

A convenient, affordable hotel for the area, with clean rooms and comfortable beds. My only complaint was being jolted awake by doors slamming from 5:30 a.m. onward. It may have been noisy neighbors or kitchen staff coming and going to get breakfast ready, but either way I couldn’t sleep in.

The hotel was well maintained, very clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. There’s also truck parking in the adjacent lot. Great property, and I’ll stay here again.
