Indianapolis Budget Inn And Suites

The breakfast had enough variety for our group, since everyone likes different foods. Hot choices included sausage, scrambled eggs, and seasoned potatoes. There were three waffle makers, including one for mini waffles that my six-year-old thought was so cool, along with plenty of toppings. We also found oatmeal toppings, pastries like blueberry and lemon poppy seed scones, muffins, banana bread and coffee cake, plus toast, bagels, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and apple and orange juice. Coffee and hot water for tea or hot chocolate were available all day by the front desk, with decaf, light and dark roasts, three teas, and lots of add-ins. The bar area also had free popcorn and homemade Chex mix in take-away bags. There's a restaurant on site, though we didn't need it, and all the staff we met were kind and helpful. The pool was heated and seemed to use salt instead of chlorine, so it didn't have that harsh chemical smell. It was empty whenever we went down, and although it's small, we had lots of room. They even had a bin of pool toys. The hotel still feels new, and everything from the breakfast room to our room was clean and cared for. The area was nice, with plenty of restaurants and grocery and department stores. A couple things were rough. We waited a long time for an elevator, and there are only two for a six-floor hotel. Our shower took a full ten minutes to get hot when we first arrived, and the pressure was poor. Once hot, the water stayed that way through three showers. The mounted conditioner bottle was empty. We could have called down, but most of us weren't dressed for someone to come in at 10 p.m., so we went without.

Getting to the zoo and downtown for our plans was an easy, short drive. The newer hotel had a spotless room with comfortable beds and all the essentials. Though we were right by the elevator area, we never heard it. Breakfast was delicious, with different choices each day, including cinnamon roll waffles, western omelettes, and another day's eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes, and blueberry waffles. The front desk staff were welcoming and efficient.

Jacory Smith, Alyssa Cummins, and Whitney Ronsdell all went out of their way to help us. Each was professional, personable, and really cared about our situation. Whitney made sure everything was just right, and the entire staff has turned us into loyal customers. I hope they all get recognized for the wonderful service. We checked in yesterday, and we'll be back next year, and every year after that.

We stopped here overnight on a family road trip during a large wedding, so there was a lot happening when we arrived. The employees were still kind, attentive, and helpful, and every person we dealt with was great. Our room and bathroom were clean, and I liked that the toiletries weren't strongly scented. The breakfast had good choices, but I didn't find the bed very comfortable. In my opinion, dinner at the restaurant was expensive bar food and the menu was limited. They did get our order out quickly despite all the wedding activity. If you have the option, I'd eat somewhere else.
