Speedway Legacy Inn

This was the worst hotel experience I've had, and I travel a lot. I booked a room through Expedia on March 11, 2025, for $428.02, with payment going directly to the hotel. Afterward I paid a $105.14 deposit. Then the hotel charged my card another $200 on June 29, 2025, followed by $495.32 on June 30. That came to over $800 for a booking of about $420. When I asked, the accommodation said an event that weekend had pushed up the prices. I had a fixed contract with Expedia and believed that increase wasn't legally allowed, but the hotel didn't care. Expedia couldn't help because the accommodation had taken the money directly, so I chose free cancellation. I canceled on July 29, 2025, and requested the $800.46 back, as the hotel had offered. Since then they've ignored me and haven't refunded anything. I was overcharged and still haven't been paid back. I'll be in town next May, and plan to call the police and go to the hotel with them to get my $800 back in cash. This has never happened to me before. The staff's behavior is outrageous. See you next year, I'm looking forward to it!

The hosts were gracious and kind throughout, whether they were chatting with us or sharing local recommendations. Their hospitality made the stay special, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. The room was cozy, spotless, and full of charm, with a personal, welcoming feel. The property itself was beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained, and you can see the care and pride put into it. I can't say enough good things about this bed and breakfast. A true hidden gem, highly recommend.

For the price, it was fine, but calling this a bed and breakfast felt misleading. I never saw any staff, and had to dig through an email to find the door codes. At night, another guest woke me by knocking because they couldn't work out how to get in. There was absolutely no breakfast, just a Keurig and a few pods in the common area, not even a cracker. It felt more like a hostel.

My son spent three weeks here while working at the Indy 500, and it was just right for his stay. He had a great, clean, comfortable room, and the hosts were very kind to him. It's very close to the track. Highly recommend.
